Assam Black Tea Assam Tea is a black tea named after the region of its production, Assam, in India. It is also traditionally used in Yunnan province in China. Assam tea is manufactured specifically from the plant Camellia sinensis var. assamica (Masters). This tea, most of which is grown at or near sea level, is known for its body, briskness, malty flavour, and strong, bright colour. Assam teas, or blends containing Assam, are often sold as "breakfast" teas. For instance, Irish breakfast tea, a maltier and stronger breakfast tea, consists of small-sized Assam tea leaves.
Thai Tea Thai tea, also known as Thai iced tea, is a Thai cold or hot drink made from tea, milk and sugar. It is popular in Southeast Asia and is served in many restaurants that serve Thai food. The drink is made from strongly brewed Ceylon tea, or a locally grown landrace (traditional or semi-wild) version of Assam known as Bai Miang.
Other ingredients may include added orange blossom water, star anise, crushed tamarind seed or red and yellow food coloring, and sometimes other spices as well.
The tea is sweetened with sugar and condensed milk and served chilled. Evaporated milk, coconut milk or whole milk is poured over the tea and ice before serving to add taste and creamy appearance. Condensed milk and sugar may also be mixed with the tea before it is poured over ice and then topped with evaporated milk. In Thai restaurants, it is served in a tall glass, but when sold from street and market stalls in Thailand it may be poured over the crushed ice in a plastic bag or tall plastic cups.
Although Thai tea is not the same as bubble tea, a Southeast and East Asian beverage that contains large tapioca pearls, Thai tea with tapioca pearls is a popular flavor of bubble tea.
Ceylon Tea It is grown on numerous estates which vary in altitude and taste. High-grown tea is honey golden liquor and light and is considered to be among the best teas in terms of its distinct flavor, aroma, and strength. Low-grown teas are a burgundy brown liquor and stronger. Mid-grown teas are strong, rich and full-bodied.
Earl Grey Tea Earl Grey tea is a tea blend which has been flavoured with the addition of oil of bergamot.Traditionally, "Earl Grey" was made from black teas, but tea companies have since begun to offer Earl Grey in other varieties as well, such as green or oolong.
Peach & Melon Green Tea A mild, naturally aromatic tea due to the sweet aroma of rose buds, cranberries and chrysanthemum blossoms. A sweet peach-melon after taste.
Pomegranate & Strawberry Fruit Tea Pleasantly sweet and tart at the same time, Strawberry Pomegranate is a delightful addition to your cupboard. Its refreshing flavor is naturally uplifting; there's no need for caffeine here! This blend uses soothing rooibos, known as red tea. Delicious hot or iced.
White Grape Oolong Tea Smooth-bodied with a wonderfully sweet aroma, this high altitude Taiwanese oolong is lightly floral and develops into a sweet natural Kyoho grape flavor that lingers. Enjoy with some brown crystal sugar for a dessert-like treat or without anything added for a natural and refreshing flavor. This tea is good for multiple infusions. This refreshing taste of spring is perfect hot or iced to balance your senses any time of the day. |
